No fridge. Friendly staff. Needs some upkeep. Lifted toilet seat and it fell off. Toilet bowl has big hairpine crack. Restaurant is good. Cheap $7 breakfast for guests.
The hotel itself was nice and clean . After a long drive from deer lake with 2 friends we arrived late at 11.30 and the check in service was fantastic , she didnt normally work there and was helping for the evening . After going to the room and changing all we wanted was a cold beer and to relax . The bar said it was open until 12 pm yet when we got to it at 11.45 it was closed ! Needless to say my alcoholic friends were NOT impressed as 15 minutes was enough time to have a cold one . Thankfully the front desk lady told us about the local hot spot Ledgends . After a short walk we went and FINALLY had a cold beer , live entertainment and friendly locals. Who closes a bar early on a Saturday night ?! Thankfully the hospitality made up for it.
Rooms are clean and convenient but don't include a fridge or a microwave. Internet is very slow. Staff is helpful.
Was flying out of Gander in the morning booked a night here. Very friendly people working here! The room was clean and tidy. A little dated but overall I was quite happy with everything. Finding your room was a bit tricky lots of hallways and doors, the hotel is like a mini maze. I'd stay here again if I was every back in Gander.
Not an overly good personal experience! We chose the albatross for it's cheaper price, but since the breakfast was not included with the stay it came out to a more expensive price then some of the other local hotels that offered breakfast with the stay. I was here on a business trip so we asked for a room that had a door to the exterior, so we could just hope in the truck and go in the morning. Unfortunately the only room that had a door to the outside was furnished with only one bed and a fold out couch; so the sleep wasn't the best for me. The Wi-Fi was easy to connect to but it kept disconnecting even with full bars so I'm not sure if the room we were staying in was just a trouble area for the network or something of that nature. Now back to the breakfast we received, I chose sausage... I shouldn't of choose sausage! that hard skin filled with grease wasn't quite what I expected, The hash brown fries were not fully cooked, The coffee was burnt and bitter, The eggs and toast were good though. My favorite part was the water. Well that concludes my review, thanks for reading and don't let it stop you from staying. it's was just my personal experience and thought I'd share.
