Was spending the night in Gander and thought we'd try out the Bistro on Roe. Let me tell you the reviews are wrong this place is better than that! We ordered the scallops to start, I ordered the burger and the Flourless chocolate cake for dessert. There are no pics of the appetizer of dessert cause I ate it too fast! If you order one this make the Flourless chocolate cake it's incredible! Our server Courtney was also very top notch! Very attentive and sociable! Great food and great service, dining here is a must!
I had the salmon and my husband had the chicken entree. Both were very good. The young waitress was friendly and attentive. Atmosphere was a bistro style a flair of upscale dining. I would definitely go again.
The food was well prepared and tasty for the most part, except The flourless chocolate cake. I was looking forward to it based on all the positive reviews but really, it was more of a hot pudding than a cake. I found the texture unpleasant. I mentioned it to the server and she seemed to think it was my problem, not hers. The chowder and scallops were good, but $18 for 3 scallops? Thats a bit steep.
Hiden away in a in a tiny strip mall in an industrial area. What a gem! Excellent service. Food cooked to perfection. We were pleasantly surprised. So glad our AirBnB host suggested it.
